BioWare's spluttering shooter Anthem is now just £10 on PS4 and Xbox One.
The
ailing RPG had aims of being the next Destiny or The Division but never
managed to take off. A disastrous launch saw the game floundering from
the very start amidst
poor reviews
and, in the months that followed, any efforts that were intended to
improve Anthem's situation seemed either too little or too late.
Is it worth a go for a tenner? Maybe. Even if you just decide to
zip through the campaign you're probably going to feel like you've got
your money's worth. There are a few satisfying moments to be found in
Anthem, too, whether it's soaring through the rich and detailed
environments or dabbling with some of the Javelin suit's power to make
combat more exciting.
Just don't go in expecting an engrossing
story or some of the developer's finest character work. And if it goes
grab you, the original
post-launch content plans have now been ditched, so the future there is unclear.
If you've got ten quid lying around and are looking to spend that
somewhere else instead, you should definitely take a look at this
month's
Humble Monthly Bundle.
You can get the Crash N Sane Trilogy, Spyro Reignited and Call of Duty:
WW2 for that price. It's incredible value in a single bundle - and
that's without the bonus games to come!
You can find even more of the latest gaming and tech offers over at Jelly Deals. We've got the
best price for PS Plus, where you can get
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for cheap and our picks for the
best PS4 external hard drives.
